Central Sterilising Services Department (C.S.S.D)

The Department is staffed and managed by personnel who have achieved full Certificate III in Sterilizing Technology.

All Processing and procedures conducted within the unit comply with the Australian/New Zealand Sterilizing Standards AS/NZ 4187:2003.

This includes electronic scanning and tracking of instruments and equipment, from the cleaning process to the end user - you, the patient.  A recent upgrade of this tracking system has enhanced the processing and tracking efficiency of the unit.

The department is extremely busy, providing a service throughout the hospital, as well as for 18 external and regional sites around the Midwest and Murchison region.
Annual Midwest and Murchison regional visits and audits are conducted to monitor compliance with the requirements of AS/NZ 4187:2003 by each site.
