Mt Magnet

Mt Magnet is a town going places with recent initiatives strengthening the economic and social fabric of the community.

A Rural Transaction Centre was recently completed housing the town library, Centrelink, a small telecentre, youth centre, the local newspaper and offices for the Mid West Development Commission, Central West College of TAFE and the Department of Agriculture.

An Indigenous Youth Initiative Program is also running in Mt Magnet, providing opportunity for youth by improving skills, furthering education and providing entertainment options.  The program has been so successful that it was selected as a finalist in the 2002 Community Services Awards.

Couple these with the town's rich mining history and rugged natural landscape, and Mt Magnet becomes an attractive option for both living in and visiting.
