Mullewa
Located 100km east of Geraldton and 463km north of Perth, Mullewa is in the heart of wildflower country. Serving as the administrative and cultural centre of the region, the Mullewa community prides itself on its rich natural and social heritage. A number of scenic drives originate from Mullewa, taking in the area’s natural beauty, outlying towns and unique historical and geographical features. Each year Mullewa hosts the Mullewa Wildflower Show, Mullewa Agricultural Show, and the Mullewa Lions Gift.
Mullewa’s economy is predominantly agricultural, with half the shire’s population employed in agricultural activities. An annual harvest of wheat, oats, barley, lupins, canola, chickpeas and faba beans yields in excess of 250,000 tonnes of grain. Employment is also found in community services, retail, public administration, transport, storage and communication.
